Music Learning for Ages 3.5-5 Years
A playful first step into music—where curiosity leads the way.
The Young Music Explorers Club (YMEC) is our brand-new preschool music program designed especially for children ages 3.5–5 who are ready to begin their musical journey in a fun, engaging, and developmentally thoughtful way.
Through a unique blend of piano exploration, movement, rhythm games, and imaginative play, children are introduced to the building blocks of music—steady beat, listening skills, early note recognition, and coordination—all within a supportive, small-group environment.
Each child has their own digital piano station, giving them hands-on experience while also participating in group activities that build confidence, focus, and social connection.
This program is designed to gently guide children toward music lesson readiness—helping them develop focus, listening skills, and comfort at the piano before stepping into more formal lessons.
Deep-Sea Explorers Mission: When Pip the Octopus Lost Her Rhythm
📅 September 8 - October 13, 2026
🕓 6-Tuesdays 3:30pm (CLASS IS FULL) 📅 September 14 – October 19, 2026 🕓 6-Mondays 4:30pm
This 6-week session transforms the classroom into a musical universe where students become Deep-Sea Explorers on a series of "tiny missions." Each week, children will:
- ✦Discover new musical concepts through imaginative sea-themed adventures
- ✦Explore the piano through simple patterns and guided play
- ✦Build rhythm skills through movement, games, and group activities
- ✦Strengthen listening, turn-taking, and confidence in a joyful setting
Every 6-week session is built around a fun, engaging theme, giving children a sense of adventure and purpose as they learn. While there is always a bit of review, the learning continues to build from one session to the next—so children are welcome (and encouraged!) to keep going beyond the first 6 weeks.
Why It Works
This isn't just a music class—it's a carefully designed bridge into future piano learning. We combine:
- ✦Structured musical foundations — so real learning happens
- ✦Creative exploration — so children stay engaged
- ✦Small group support — so every child is seen and guided
Children leave feeling capable, excited, and ready for the next step in their musical journey.
Who It's For
- ✦Children ages 3.5–5 years
- ✦Beginners with little to no prior music experience
- ✦Families looking for a positive, enriching first introduction to piano

What Families Are Saying
He Gets It!
“My little guy was shy at first. I didn't think he would leave my side to have fun in the Young Learner's Program. But one day, Miss Jill was singing a favorite song and off he went! He gets it now - this is HIS music time. Love it!”

Making It Matter
“A place to learn and grow. Meraki understands kid development through music and makes it matter.”

Confidence
“I didn't know what to expect with this class but what we experienced was an opportunity to learn through play. My son was ready for piano class once he turned 5. But more than ready, he was confident. THAT made every class worth it to me.”
