Music therapy is of paramount importance for young children due to its multifaceted neurological and social benefits. The power of music in stimulating various regions of the brain, enhancing cognitive development, and promoting emotional expression cannot be understated. Moreover, music therapy can help children with neurological challenges, such as those with autism or developmental delays, by providing a non-verbal channel for communication and emotional regulation. Socially, music therapy facilitates peer interaction and fosters a sense of belonging, as children engage in musical activities collaboratively. What makes music therapy particularly effective is its individualized approach, tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each child. Certified music therapists are experts in pathology, physiology, and the neurological intricacies of childhood development, enabling them to design interventions that address specific goals and challenges. By harnessing the therapeutic potential of music, these professionals support children from infancy through adulthood in their journey towards physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Not at all - try not to confuse music education with music therapy. Music education at Meraki is where we 'teach' musical skills and music therapy at Meraki is where we use music to support developmental goal areas such as socialization and communication.
We are unable to take insurance for music therapy at this time.
The very best therapeutic benefit is received with weekly sessions. We will not be able to enroll your child unless a weekly commitment is given.
