Perhaps the most important skill a musician has is the ability to grow a piece of music from an idea to a fully finished, shareable product.Though the process and equipment for recording music was previously widely inaccessible, there has never been an easier time in history to create and record music than now! Through small group projects, discussion, and hands-on experimentation, students will learn the fundamental concepts and techniques of songwriting, recording, and mixing needed to bring music from just an idea, to being a fully finished product. The course will culminate in a final project with the option of being shared. Space is limited to 8 participants.
8 Mondays beginning 4/26, 5:30pm-6:30pm (ET) $260 (no class held Memorial Day)
Students will need: a computer/tablet/ipad, headphones, midi keyboard (optional, but encouraged), a usb or xlr microphone (optional)
